The February & March birthstone
Labradorite was first discovered in the late 1700's in Labrador, Canada. Since then, deposits have been noted in Finland, Russia, Australia, Mexico, United States and Madagascar. It is said that according to Eskimo Indian legend, the northern lights were freed from Labradorite.
A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies. Excellent for strengthening intuition - promoting psychic abilities.
It is an extremely spiritual iridescent mineral rock that works to increase the connections between the physical and ethereal, in keeping with labradorite meaning. Spiritual growth is enhanced and strengthened by the use of labradorite.
About Karen Hill Silver
Being between 99.5% and 99.9% pure silver, Karen silver has a higher silver content than Sterling silver. It's just the solder used to fuse the silver components together that makes up the last fractions of a percent. Consequently, it has a weight, bright satin colour, and feel, all of its own. Every piece is handmade and individual. The hand-hammered and chased details are wonderful and you can actually see evidence of each piece having been formed by the hands of a Karen craftsman. These pieces are not usually hallmarked in any way, but we can guarantee their origins.
